American Actor Praises Adjetey Anang

Ghana’s award-winning actor Adjetey Anang (Pusher) has earned rave reviews after starring in an action-packed movie ‘Cartel the Genesis’.

An American actor Johnny B who co starred with Adjetey in his recent movie described the actor as an intense, and professional actor.

“He is an intense actor I will say. He can really increase the intensity if he needs to and that’s something very good, this is not a great comparison but let’s say Robert de Niro” The American actor heaped praise in an exclusive interview with ‘let’s talk entertainment show’ on Joy News on Multi TV,

Hollywood great Robert de Niro starred in over 90 films.

Praised for his commitment to roles, stemming from his background in method acting, De Niro gained 60 lb (27 kg) and learned how to box for his role as Jake LaMotta in Raging Bull, ground his teeth for Cape Fear, lived in Sicily, Italy for The Godfather Part II.

He worked as a cab driver for a few weeks for Taxi Driver and learned to play the saxophone for New York, New York. He again put on weight for his performance as Al Capone in The Untouchables (1987).


Touched by the comparison, Adjetey says he is humbled but insists there is still a long way to go in his acting career.

 “Wow, that’s really way up there, personally I still think I have lots of work to do to get to that realm and so that’s really such an honor but I personally think that am way behind to catch up but its inspiring”, he stated.

‘Cartel the Genesis’ adds to Adjetey Anang’s tally of 30 movies.

The movie ‘CARTEL THE GENESIS’ explores the flaws and dealings of the narcotic system in Ghana and beyond and also sheds light on the various challenges  security angents face in dealing with them.

The action packed movie stars movie greats such as Joselyn Dumas, Kofi Bucknor, Gavivina Tamaklo, Prince David Osei, Johnny B(US) and Adjetey Anang.

The movie premiers on June 26, 2015 at the National Theater at 7pm and again the next day.

Adjetey Anang won the best actor in leading role at the 2014 Ghana movie awards for his immense contribution to the Ghanaian movie industry.

He continues to remain undoubtedly one of Ghana’s best all-time actors.
