Kumasi Airport Roundabout Flooded After Heavy Rains

Heavy rains in Kumasi on Saturday evening left some parts of the airport roundabout and surrounding areas flooded.

A Total filling station near the roundabout caused a lot of scare in the area as people stayed away from seeking shelter at the place for fear of a possible re-occurrence of the June 3 disaster which claimed over 150 lives.

The rain which started around 7:30pm submerged people’s shops, container stores and some homes. The situation caused a lot of traffic in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Meanwhile, the Police quickly moved to the affected areas to control the traffic situation.

At Anloga junction, fire service personnel quickly rushed there to drain the flood water.

Some residents have attributed the flooding to shallow drains within the Kumasi metropolis.
