Commodities Experience Price Changes

A lot of commodities experienced price changes this week.

The highest positive change was experienced by cassava with a gain of 10 percent to close the week at an average price of GHS 3.40.

This was followed by tomatoes with 7 percent increase and rice having the least which is a percentage gain. Soya beans lost a percentage to close the week at an average price of 6.64 per olunka.

An olunka of maize cost GHS 5.46 at Takoradi representing a gain of 5 percent. In Techiman an olunka cost GHS 4.00 and GHS 4.50 in Kumasi representing an increase of 9 percent.

The prices in the rest of the markets remain stable. The price of tomatoes gained 7 percent to close the week at GHS 11.57.

In Dambai, the commodity gained 16 percent to close the week at GHS 9.00. The highest gain was made in Accra where the commodity gained 20 percent to close the week at 19.26.
