Top Nigerian film stars will on July 23 visit Ghana as invited guests for the much-awaited, first ever Fashion & Life Achievements Awards 2009 slated for Sunday, July 26 at the prestigious La Palm Beach Royal Hotel in Accra. The award scheme is being organized by the Fashion and Life magazine, Nigeria's foremost fashion and lifestyle journal, with support from some selected fashion organizations in Ghana. The objective of the awards is to give honour to deserving achievers in the fashion and beauty industry as well as other areas of human endeavour. The event is expected to attract a number of top stars in the fashion and music industry as well as top film stars from Nollywood including Rita Dominic, Jide Kosoko, Lola, Jim Iyke among others.Top Ghanaian movie stars expected to grace the event include Jackie Appiah, Chris Attoh and Rachel Bruce. According to the publisher of Fashion and Life magazine, Mr. Peter Roc, the event would be used as a platform for stars in Ghana and Nigeria to establish business relationship and also to broaden their business interests. He said the ceremony would feature fashion exhibition, which would also feature four of Nigeria's hottest designers as well as two of Ghana's hottest designers. He hinted that the event would reward 20 personalities in the areas of fashion and beauty designers and business sectors. Peter Roc noted that a special recognition awards would be given to four Ghanaians for being very fashionable and contributing to the development of their various areas of business. One of Ghana�s top performing artistes, Tinny, is expected to thrill the audience with some of his hit-songs and would perform alongside one of Nigeria's funniest comedians, Omobaba, who is expected to crack ribs with laughter.
