Hearts of Oak To Investigate Alleged Leaked Tape

The Phobians say they will look into reports about a leaked tape on which some players made disparaging remarks about the club. Accra Hearts of Oak are currently investigating a leaked tape on a conversation between their players Issah Mumuni, Tetteh Luggard and Vincent Atinga on which they allegedly made bad comments against the club after their 2-1 home defeat to Hasaacas last weekend. According to earlier reports, the players words on the tape suggest they were happy over their sides loss to the Western Region-based team, with threatening remarks that more defeats will come if their three-month salaries are not paid. Hearts managing director Gerald Ankrah mentioned in a statement that their attention had been drawn to reports regarding the actions of the said players, promising to carry on with the investigations. However, contrary to other reports, Ankrah said the players in questions have not been suspended. Hearts, he said, would hand appropriate punishment to all those found guilty of breaching the protocols of the club. Ankrah enjoined supporters and the media not to consider the reports about the leaked tape until the club completes its investigation. The Rainbow team are struggling in the GPL campaign and have won only one match in the second round.
