Rlg To Train Ivorian, Senegalese Youth On ICT

The Ivorian government has contracted the Rlg Group to undertake a comprehensive training on Information Communication Technology (ICT) for selected youth in the West African nation.

The training is intended to build the capacity of the youth in software, hardware, repairs and assembling of electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers.

The Ivorian Department of State in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Vocational Training under the Ministry of Employment, Professional Training and New Technologies will run the project through the Centre for the Promotion of New Information and Communication Technology (CPNTIC).

Speaking at a signing ceremony in Abidjan, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Audit Department, Mr Kone Kipeya said as country recovering from War, Cote d’Ivoire will be seeking to leverage on the “demonstrable skills and expertise of Rlg in countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, the Gambia and Senegal to equip its youth”.

He said the agreement will also facilitate the official opening of Rlg offices and other facilities in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Chief Executive of Rlg Gambia, Papa Yusupha Njie welcomed the co-operation with Cote d’Ivoire, describing it as an opportunity to demonstrate Africa’s leadership in ICT.

He said the project will also ensure beneficiary youth are assisted to set-up to be on their own and generate employment for others.

In Senegal, Rlg has signed similar agreement with Intercontinental Business School (IBS) to offer Mobile Phone Repair training program to an initial group in the Guediewaye area.
