The Ministry of Youth and Sports, has assured the nation of its continued support to the senior national team, the black stars and its technical team to qualify for the 2010 world cup in South Africa and CAN 2010 in Angola. Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, the minister of state responsible for the ministry of youth and sports, stated this in Parliament today in an answer to a question on preparations of the team for the remaining qualifying matches to the world cup in South Africa to 2010. He said, the Ministry will ensure prompt release of funds for the 2nd round of qualifying matches to commence in September 2009. He commended Ghanaians for their spiritual and moral support for the black stars during the 1st round of the qualifying matches.
