Reject Gays - Ahmadiyya Leader

THE EASTERN regional leader of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Alhaji Mustapha Boateng, has appealed to the authorities not to allow pressure by Ghana’s development partners, be it financial or diplomatic, to compel the country to accept gay and lesbian marriage or practice.

He has also urged religious leaders to pray, counsel and assist those in the habit to come out of it to avoid God’s punishment.

Alhaji Boateng who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Chocho Industries made the appeal at Kyebi in the Eastern Region during prayers to climax this year’s Ramadan festival by Muslims throughout the world. The festival is celebrated after a month-long fasting and prayer by Muslims.

He cited the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible where the two cities were burnt to ashes due to such habits.

“In our case, God may not burn Ghana to ashes, but can visit us with another punishment if we indulge in such acts,” he warned.

He advised Ghanaians, especially the youth, not to allow peer pressure to lure them into such sinful acts to destroy their future.

On the occasion itself, the Regional Leader called on Muslims to continue to be holy, humble, honest and continue to be kind during the fasting period to enable it reflect on the entire nation.

He was sad that some Muslims immediately after the period re
turn to their bad ways thereby defeating the whole idea of Ramadan.

“We should not be dedicated and good Muslims only in Ramadan period but try our possible best to obey the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammed and the Holy Koran,” he concluded.

The occasion attracted a large number of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission members from the Eastern Region.
