Asomdwee Park, the christened presidential cemetery at the Osu Castle in Accra, where the late President John Evans Atta Mills was buried in 2012, is being kept in good condition as the third year anniversary approaches.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed that workers, including electricians, painters, cleaners and gardeners, working tirelessly to keep the place tidy in anticipation of the main event on Friday, July 24.
A worker at the park told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the park was always kept neat, but because of the anniversary, work was being intensified.
He gave the assurance that work on the park would be 100 per cent done by Thursday.
Efforts by the GNA to speak to the supervising officer proved futile, since she was out to acquire tools to facilitate work.
The three-day anniversary of the late President John Evans Attah Mills would start with a lecture on Tuesday at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration in Accra.
The Asomdwee (Peace) Park, formerly known as the Geese Park, was transformed in 2012 to serve as the final resting place for the late President, who passed on on July 24, 2012.
The park has a lovely and serene atmosphere, complemented with geese and ostriches that allow it double as a tourist attraction site.
