Ghanaians Now Know Who Akufo-Addo Is; Its Impossible To Destroy His Name Again - Karbo

Deputy Communication Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifa Karbo has chastised the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary and other NDC stalwarts for denigrating the NPP Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo in his tribute to the late President Mills.

In commemoration of the third anniversary of the death of President John Evans Atta Mills, Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, eulogizing the deceased in Parliament on Tuesday, said the legacy of late President, ‘remains ever relevant’.

"...As we all come round to condemn the gruesome murder of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Adams Mahama (may his soul rest in peace) and the scenes of violence that characterized the Talensi by-election a few weeks ago, we cannot help but admit that the Prof. Mills’ style of politics is what is good for the health of our democracy and our nation. Our politics must be nothing but peaceful and must have no place for warmongers and terrorist-like groups," he added.

After the attack on NPP Flagbearer in the eulogy of the late President Mills, the Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing in charge of Housing, Sampson Ahi endorsed Okudjeto Ablakwa’s tribute saying Nana Akufo-Addo encouraged the infighting in the NPP with his loud silence.

He added that Nana Akufo-Addo’s silence over the happenings in the NPP encouraged some people in the party to murder the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP; reiterating that Nana Addo’s later ceasefire comment was too late as the harm was already committed.

Reacting to these comments on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, the NPP Parliamentary candidate elect for Lawra Constituency in the northern part of Ghana, Anthony Karbo said the constant attacks on his Presidential candidate indicate the NDC has seen some good in him [Nana Addo].

This convinces me that when a good person is coming out to do something good for his people, you will find detractors to speak ill of him to twist the minds of the people about him. But it is impossible to destroy his name now because Nana Akufo-Addo has already proven to Ghanaians that every evil things they said about him were false,” he asserted.

He however was assured that the basic motive for which the NDC ministers were appointed was to attack the personality of the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and not to work to improve the lots of Ghanaians.

He therefore implored President Mahama’s ministers to put to rest the name of Nana Akufo-Addo as it is bizarre to attack Nana Addo in the tribute of the late President Mills; stressing there is no understanding in what Hon Ablakwa did in Parliament.

He reminded Okudjeto Ablakwa that the late President Mills didn’t introduce him to politics to speak ill of political opponents; adding that Nana Akufo-Addo and the late President Mills have been best of friends.

He added that “they know each other better than those eulogizing the late President Mills and condemning Akufo-Addo; don’t forget that these persons have been contemporaries but due to politics we have created enmity between them”.

He therefore demanded to know from the NDC government if President John Dramani Mahama is actually using the late President Mills’ ‘I care for you’ mantra to serve teachers, workers and the youth in the country.
