I Think It Is Time We Begin To Punish NPP Members Who Talk To The Media Without Authorization - Karbo

Deputy Director of Communication of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifa Karbo has issued a stern warning to members of the elephant fraternity to desist from deepening the cracks in the party.

He insisted it is time to begin punishing any member who speaks to the media without authorization from the communication machinery of the party as some people have taken advantage of the silence of the leadership to forment more trouble.

His comment comes on the heels of the verbal assault carried out against the incumbent Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon Ursula Owusu by the acting NPP Constituency chairman, Nii Abbey.

He is reported to have accused Hon. Ursula Owusu of not being a democrat, afraid of competition and someone who is constantly wagging war with the constituency executives.

She is not a democrat; she is afraid of elections. Her background is from the 31st December Women Movement and so she has coup blood in her because the Movement came from a coup d’état wing,” the Constituency Chairman claimed.

She wants to destroy our party; she doesn’t belong to us....she is running a parallel executive structure against the NPP office in the Ablekuma West Constituency,” he further alleged.

Based on this subject, the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Lawra called on the party's leadership on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show to punish any member who speaks to the media without their authorization.

This insult on the sitting MP is distasteful and not worth repeating. How can you say all these things about your leader? I think it is time we begin to punish people who talk to the media without the backing of the leadership,” he indicated.
