Prof Dodoo Pardoned...

Parliament has pardoned and discharged Prof. Alex Dodoo, a lecturer at the School of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Ghana for the contemptuous comments he made against Members of Parliament (MPs).

Prof Dodoo a few weeks back, said the MPs needed to apologise to Ghanaians for their ‘ignorant’ statements concerning the Ebola Vaccine trial.

This was after he (Prof Dodoo) said the Ebola Vaccine trial scheduled to take off in the Volta Region was not harmful even though majority of Ghanaians including the legislators spoke against it.

He was hauled before Parliament’s Privileges Committee and in his first appearance, he rendered an unqualified apology and subsequently the committee in a letter asked him to appear before them on Thursday, July 23, 2015.

In a report submitted to Parliament the Privileges Committee discharged Prof Dodoo following the numerous apologies he has rendered in the media and before them.
