Pentecost Apostle Fears Africa Will Legalise Gay Marriage

The Cape Coast Area Head Pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Albert Amoah has expressed worry that African countries including Ghana might eventually push for same sex marriage.

This, he said is due to the heavy dependence of the continent on the Western World.
He said most African countries depended largely on grants and aids from developed countries and therefore might feel threatened, thereby making them vulnerable to accept same sex marriage.

Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate a new church building of the Church of Pentecost at Asebu Ekroful in the Central Region, he described same sex marriage as ungodly and a complete embarrassment to Christianity and to believers as a whole.
The church building constructed mainly through individual contributions and fund risings from members is expected to serve more than 500 worshipers from about five communities in Moree District.

Apostle Amoah pointed out that African countries have enough resources to depend on which should make them resist any ungodly influence from the Western World, if only their governments eschew greed, corruption and embezzlement which he noted are the major reasons for their inability to develop.

He said homosexuality is not part of African culture and therefore called on religious groups in the country to come together and resist the attempt by any group to legalise and push Africa into such a shameful act.

He advised Africans especially the youth to rally behind their governments and pray for God’s protection and guidance to help build a better continent.

Apostle Amoah also asked the youth to demystify the notion of getting rich overnight but to rather work harder and lead a righteous life while waiting upon the Lord to bless them.

The Asebu Ekroful Assembly pastor, John Frimpong Duku enumerated the struggle the members went through when the church building began in 1986 and asked the members to make the sacred place useful to them.

He expressed dissatisfaction about immoral acts that have engulfed the world even though there has been an increase in the number of churches and spread of the word of God.

He asked Christians to live above reproach and “put on a character of maintenance” such that their lives would be worthy of emulation to bring to bear the beauty of God.

Pastor Duku called on those who God had blessed with riches to help the poor and needy in the society.
