Disappointed Cocoa Farmers Storm Huni-Valley

Thousands of cocoa farmers from various communities in the Prestea Huni-Valley District of the Western Region on Monday stormed Huni-Valley to collect their free fertilisers, but they went home empty-handed.

The reason?

The great number that turned up far outweighed the few items that were brought for sharing, and in the end, there was no show.

When the farmers saw the few items available, with the officials watching helplessly, they left unceremoniously.

When The Finder contacted the co-ordinator of the scheme, one Mr Minka, he refused to utter a word, saying until he received instruction from his superior, he would not comment.

He even refused to explain matters to the farmers concerned on the grounds that he had not been authorised to do so.
