The Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress in the Mpraeso constituency has together with other executives have been remanded by a court for allegedly attacking the DCE of Kwahu South District.

The Police in the District took over the Assembly to protect the DCE for the area, Joseph Omari, from being lynched by some irate executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The reaction of the executives comes after three of them were pepper sprayed the spraying at the office of the DCE to enquire about a working visit of the Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Bosiako-Sekyere, to the constituency.

The brother of the Constituency Chairman who confirmed this to Citi News, said he is seeking for bail for the NDC chairman. “Other party executives including the organizer, deputy organizer and deputy secretary have all been remanded,” he added. Meanwhile, the DCE and his constituency branch executives have allegedly been at logger heads for some time now, a situation which is reportedly affecting development in the area. The DCE is also said to have been suspended from the NDC.
