WAEC Should Be Blamed For Cancellation Of WASSCE Results

The entire results of 453 students who took part in this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), were cancelled by the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC). WAEC also claims it is investigating 119 schools for engaging in mass cheating during the examination.

Aside this, the council has also withheld results of candidates from 185 secondary schools for “alleged examination irregularities.” But the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) believes WAEC should be blamed for the persistent annual cancellation of the results of most students who undertake the WASSCE.

Speaking on Radio Ghana, the President of NAGRAT, Christian Addai Poku decried the lack of effort WAEC has put in over the years to prevent examination malpractices.
