Nana Addo Should Appoint A Good Strategist And Unifier As His Campaign Manager - Amoako Baah

Political Scientist at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has advised the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], Nana Akufo-Addo to appoint a campaign manager capable of uniting the factions in the party.

According to the Political Science lecturer, the only antidote to bridge the Alan camp with that of Nana Akufo Addo is a campaign manager who connects well with both sides of the faction in the party.

Daily Guide newspaper in its Wednesday August 12, 2015 edition has stated that the flagbearer of the opposition NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo will name his campaign manager for the 2016 general elections next week.

According to the newspaper, four prominent names have popped up as possible choices for the top job. They include former national chairman of the party, Peter Mac Manu and former national vice chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim.

Other persons who have come for consideration are the names of former general secretary, Dan Kwaku Botwe, who had spearheaded two electoral victories and incumbent NPP national organizer, John Boadu.

Commenting on the names, Dr. Amoako Baah on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show indicated all the aforementioned names can help Nana Akufo-Addo in his presidential ambition but advised the flagbearer to look out for the good strategist and unifier among the names presented.

He elaborated that if Nana Addo gets lucky with a good strategist and unifier as a campaign manager, he will be able to work with both sides of the divide in the party as the problem in the party has been Alan and Nana factions.

“…..the person should be a unifier, good strategist and a good manager. Nana Addo should choose someone who should be able to work with both sides of the divide of Alan camp members and Nana’s camp members. This is the most important thing the NPP needs because it is not good to go into campaign season with divided camp”, he advised.

He however urged the NPP fraternity to cease the pressure they are mounting on the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and allow him to choose the right person to cut across both sides of the camp; urging Nana Addo to consider a person who is not too firm but a flexible from the list.
