Mosquito Schools NPP: Do The Right Thing! Press Confab Can't Be Used To Determine Peoples Nationality

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC], Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is certain the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] is inexperienced about the country's electoral process.

According to him, the demand by the opposition NPP for a new voters’ register because they have found over 70, 000 Togolese nationals in Ghana’s voters’ register is baseless which should not be allowed to occupy the minds of intelligent Ghanaians.

Using facial biometric recognition technology, the NPP’s investigation team fished out 76,286 voters with the same names and faces on the Ghanaian and Togolese voters registers. This was made by known the party’s vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he illustrated during a power point presentation.

"Many of the pictures of the Togolese citizens on Ghana’s register were not taken in a live environment but rather scanned from existing pictures and documents", Dr. Bawumia asserted.

But reacting to this allegation on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the NDC Chief Scribe expressed surprise that with such brilliant minds in their fold, all the opposition party could come up with was "this baseless allegations and wrong data" to conclude that Ghana’s population growth is currently 25 million.

Touching on the 76,286 "foreigners" who have been found in Ghana’s voters’ register, Asiedu Nketia averred the that NPP is specialized in telling lies and therefore finds Dr. Bawumia’s figure not surprising because he created similar fantasies during the 2012 election petition when he claimed nearly 240,000 Ghanaians abroad voted for President Mahama.

If they know the names they have provided exist in our voters’ register, the antidote is simple; they should fill the Challenge Form to ascertain the nationalities of the lists they have. We will compile the list of the names on the Challenge Form and at the District Review Committee, we will discuss it with the District Police Command, Coordinating Director and the Chiefs while we call the people on the list individually to explain whether they are Ghanaians”, he posited.

He added “it is after this process that we can conclude that they are not Ghanaians. We don’t use press conference to determine people’s nationalities….NPP has the 2012 voters register and so if they have issues with the content, they should fill the Challenge Form and not the call for a new voters’ register”.
