Alhaji Gruzah Hits Out At Ghalca

President of King Faisal Football Club Alhaji Karim Gruzah has hit out at the Ghana League Clubs Association and the other football organizing bodies for cheating clubs in the country. Gruzah is incensed at the paltry sums clubs receive from sponsorship monies secured by such bodies and demands proper accounting. The tough-taking club owner's latest fume is at the way the sponsorship money for this year's Top 4 top tournament was disbursed among the clubs. "How can GHALCA raise 180,000 Ghana cedis from headline sponsors MTN give Hearts and Kotoko 22,000 Ghana cedis each and part with 20,500 for King Faisal and Heart of Lions," Gruzah told the Graphic Sports. "When these bodies seek sponsorships in the name of the clubs, they almost always never consult us; neither do they provide us with details of the sponsorships secured on our behalf. "One will notice that after all these deductions a bigger chunk of the money remains with GHALCA; it's only fair and proper for them to meet with the clubs and explain every single expenditure including the about 30,000 purported to be going to the agent." Gruzah is demanding for more transparency and asking other 15 clubs in the top flight to fight for "autonomy" "All we hear is that sponsorship have been secured for us. They go ahead to share the money as it pleases them, thereby unduly taking advantage of the clubs to line their pockets," He added that:"I'm not just being suspicious; what I'm asking is that things should be done in a more transparent manner with due respect and recognition to the terms." King Faisal finished fourth last term and are scheduled to participate in next week's Ghalca Top 4 tournament.
