The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has lifted a four-year ban placed on Solomon Otoo Lartey (Match Maker), after he was found guilty of match fixing between a Ghanaian and an Algerian boxer. Otoo Lartey was banned four years after he was found guity of match fixing, but the GBA has decided to lift the ban after two years. A letter signed by Patrick Johnson, General Secretary of the GBA and made available to the GNA sports said that, "The GBA has agreed to lift a ban imposed on you after your conspiracy with Algerian counterparts to fix a boxing match. "That being the case, the GBA wishes to recall you to resume your duties as a Boxing Match Maker, as we wish you well with the hope that, you will mark a new chapter in your career". The GBA has therefore forwarded a copy of the letter to the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Championship Committe. Algerian boxer Nasreddine Dahou won the WBC Youth Welterweight championship after stopping Frank Dodze in the third round at the D.G. Hathiramani Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium in 2013. Many fans including the officials of the GBA found the decision of the corner-men of the Ghanaian boxer and the match maker suspicious after Dodze gave up the fight. This compelled the GBA to launch investigations into the matter leading to the ban on Otoo Lartey.
