Godfred Donsah Signs For Serie A Side Bologna

The 19-year-old midfielder has finally signed for the Red Blues despite attracting interests from top sides including Juventus. Ghanaian youngster Godfred Donsah has signed a five-year deal with Serie A side Bologna after reaching an agreement with the club's top hierarchy on Monday. The former Palermo midfielder was a transfer target of many clubs including Juventus and Chelsea, following an inspiring performance at the 2015 Fifa U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in June. However, the Ghanaian opted to join new entrants Bologna in a reported 6 million deal. The agent of Donsah, Oliver Arthur, could not hide his joy after his client successfully passed the medical, insisting the player will enjoy much playing time under new manager Delio Rossi at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. Im happy he chose Bologna because he will have the chance to play in Serie A and thats his goal, Arthur told TMW. He is young and should give priority to the playing time on the field to increase his experience and Bologna can do it. Maybe elsewhere, he would have succeeded." Donsah played 21 times for Cagliari last season in the Italian Serie A and was a member of the Black Satellites that participated in the junior World Cup in New Zealand. Donsah joined Palermo in 2012 after an unsuccessful trial with Roma but struggled to command a starting place at Stadio Renzo Barbera and was sent out on a season-long loan to Chievo Verona. He moved to Cagliari in July 2014, suffering relegation last season, but will now enjoy another opportunity to play in the top-flight with Bologna.
