Kanye West to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Kanye West will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2015. Also known as The Video Vanguard Award, it is given to musicians who have made a profound effect on the MTV culture, honouring the artiste’s entire body of work.

West will be the first rapper in 17 years to receive the award. The MTV VMA will be held on August 30 with performances by Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and other acts.

Musician/actor, Miley Cyrus will host the awards.
