Protect Ghanaians Interest -Pastor Tells Politicians

Founder and the General Overseer of Alfred Omega Miracle Prayer House Church at Suhum in the Eastern region, Dr. Prophet Alfred Akakpo, has urged politicians in the country to ensure that the interest of Ghanaians are protected.

He bemoaned the situation where politicians only think about themselves and leave the very people who voted them into power to suffer.

“It is unfortunate that the welfare of the people is neglected by our leaders, leaving the masses to wallow in abject poverty,” the outspoken man of God said.

Prophet Akakpo, who made these observations in an interview with Today via telephone over the weekend, indicated that without the intervention of God, Ghana would not witness the kind of development it was clamouring for.

He claimed that his call by God was to help bring spiritual relief to Ghanaians which could translate into economic gains for the country and individuals.

Prophet Akakpo also advised Christians to be faithful and sincere to God so as to attract the blessings of God for the country.

The general overseer of the Alfred Omega Miracle Prayer House Church could not understand why Ghana was considered as a Christian country, yet the impact of God’s blessings were not felt.

“In fact, some of us don’t know whether God is angry with us or not considering the kind of economic hardships coupled with erratic power supply Ghanaians are experiencing,” he stated.

He was however optimistic that better things will happen in the future.

That, he said, required “truthfulness and commitment” not only from the politicians but also from the citizenry.

He appealed to the government and other state institutions, particularly the Electoral Commission (EC), to engage all stakeholders in the country’s electoral process so as to ensure a level playing field for all political parties in the 2016 polls.
