To compliment government's effort at making cities and human settlement safe, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda, has charged city authorities, technocrats and traditional leaders to draw up effective plans for Urban Management. Prior to this, Beatrix Allah Mensah, World Bank Senior Country Operations Officer had called on the government of Ghana to make Urban planning a priority if the country is to achieve substantial economic transformation. But speaking at the fifth urban forum and re-launch of the land, service and citizenship programme at the La Beach Royal Hotel in Accra, Alhaji Collins Dauda revealed that government is committed to promoting well-structured and integrated urban development.
