The relegation battlers are set for a major challenge after selling their most prolific striker ahead of a cup decider on Sunday. The administrative manager of Medeama SC, Ben Kesse, has explained the reason behind Nathaniel Asamoah�s sudden move to Raja Casablanca, four days ahead of the Ghana FA Cup final against Asante Kotoko. Asamoah, current top scorer of the premier league with 18 goals, completed a three-year move to the Moroccan side on Wednesday, amid a deluge of criticisms from fans of the Tarkwa-based side as to why the club would let go their target man at such a crucial moment. �We are normally dealing with the international transfer system,� Kesse told Goal. �Our league is still in force but you will bear with me that the international transfer window is closing, so in principle, we agreed that Asamoah should go. �We would have wished that he stayed till the end of the season but by the time we finish with the season, that window of opportunity would close at him at Raja Casablanca.� Although currently 10th on the league log, the Yellow and Mauves are just a single point above 14th-placed and relegation-trapped Bechem United, making their situation a dicey one. �We sat and agreed in principle that though we needed him to play in the last two matches ahead of us, it is also prudent that we do business because we need money to stay in the league, motivate the other players and to advance in our objectives. �So we put everything side by side and we agreed that the player must leave.� Medeama take on Kotoko on Sunday in the 2015 MTN FA Cup final in a repeat of the 2013 edition where the Yellow and Mauves ran away 1-0 victors.
