National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch Youth Organizer for Adansi South constituency in the Ashanti region has gone blind in the left eye.

Mark Ayisi was shot in the eye Wednesday midnight after he had closed from his security job and was in his vehicle going home.

It is unclear what might have triggered the attack but many have linked it to the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries slated for November. The suspect, Kwaku Mantey, a Timber contractor has since been arrested and is in Police custody.

In an interview with Adom News, Mark Ayisi said doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have removed his left eye to save his life. “My left eye has been removed because it was destroyed completely” he bemoaned.

The NDC branch youth Organizer expressed shock at the attack because he has not offended the suspect in anyway. Mark Ayisi was thankful to God for being a live because he said the suspect wanted him dead.
