Yes! I Worked For Mrs Rawlings But She Ain't Funding My Prez Ambition Mahamas Rival

NDC’s presidential candidate hopeful, George Boateng, has admitted that he was a former employee of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings – but denied the rumor that the Rawlings’s are fueling his presidential ambition to contest President John Dramani Mahama.

The Oyarifa branch youth organizer of the ‘Umbrella’ fraternity picked his nomination form in pursuance of his bid to contest for the November 7 presidential primary.

Many including members of his party were left in shock after he was able to cough up a whopping GHC 50,000 as filing fee for the Presidential candidate slot after admitting on OKAY FM that he is not financially sound.

That raised questions as to who is fueling his [George Boateng] ‘agenda’ to dent Mahama’s competency as Ghana’s president.

Mrs Rawlings was fingered to be backing George Boateng – but though the former First Lady is yet to deny the allegation, the presidential hopeful dismissed such speculations.

Clarifying the accusation on NEAT FM’s morning show "Ghana Montie", Mr Boateng confirmed having a working relationship with the former first family – “Yes, I worked with Mrs Rawlings. She has been helpful to this country in so many ways. Nana Konadu is a true NDC member…she stood against former President Mills when his administration was performing badly”.

“…although Nana Konadu don’t side with the current administration, she is not the one funding my ambition. The grassroots members of the NDC contributed money for me to unseat the president in the upcoming primaries,” he revealed on NEAT FM.
