Veep Cast His Vote In District Assembly Elections (PHOTOS)

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, on Tuesday morning cast his vote at the Accra High School Polling Centre for t the district- level elections which started today, starting from 7 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

The Vice President arrived at the polling station at 10.30 Am and went through the relevant formalities and cast his vote.

He said the District Assembly elections is the most important election at the community level because they know what is needed at the community their level, so that their elected members can also push parliament in terms of facilities needed at the community level which is quite important, hence the need for people to come out and vote.

Voters including the Vice President underwent a biometric verification exercise by the electoral officers before they cast their ballots for their choice of candidates.

Speaking later to the media, Vice President Amissah-Arthur said voting is a civic responsibility, so called on voters to come out and quickly vote since there’s for time ,he said as at the time that he went to cast his vote, only eight people had voted out of 460 registered voters.

Aside the verification exercise, the presiding officer is also expected to bring together polling assistants, a security officer and any available polling agents and open each of the ballot boxes in their presence, as well as take out the election materials to ascertain that all items are available.
