Kumasi Entertainment Presenters Blasts RTP Award Organizers

Ever since the nominee list of Radio and Television Awards was released, many people have expressed their opinions about it. As to whether is good or not, that depends on the said person's opinion, but to sections of Kumasi-based Entertainment Show hosts, they think the organizers of this awards have not been fair to them since most of the nominees are from the capital city- Accra. Some of the Presenters are very angry because, according to them, those who should have been nominated were not. Another concern they raised was that good Entertainment shows on Kumasi radio stations like Hello Entertainment Review anchored by Dave Hammer, Nana Amoako of Ashh FM Entertainment Zone, Charles Asare of Angel Entertainment, DJ Roal of Kessben Entertainment Circle, Boss FM Countdown, Metro FM Entertainment, Luv FM Private Party ,Nhyira FM Entertainment and the likes were left out. One of the furious entertainment hosts is Nana Amoako, known in radio circles as Black Child, told SeanCitygh.com that it baffles his mind that no one from the Garden City was nominated in that category. According to him, posterity will only judge organizers of that awards. Nhyiraba Dayan Aduhene of Price Entertainment in an interview said, " is up to them, they know best, we are working, they know the categories they use so is up to them; we are working hard and people have already given us awards." DJ Premier of Metro FM also stated that, "I have always recommended that awards organized in Ghana should at least give a slot to each region in its nominations. At times, I wonder if presenters in Accra are the only media men in Ghana? There's something called proximity; what those outside Accra do is to help their communities by concentrating more on matters that affect them directly and therefore, I encourage all those outside Accra not to be deterred by such awards but rather they should keep on with the good work they're doing for their communities... After all, reward is better than award..." He coontinued, "they'll give awards to Accra people until they realize it's one way award. I wonder why shows in Kumasi and other places give spots on their shows for interviews and things". But Charles Asare, host of the Angel Entertainment, says he is not interested in the award. According to him, "it will be a waste of time and energy to comment on that award scheme." Dave Hammer of Hello FM refused to comment on the matter when SeanCitygh.com contacted him.
