Konadu To Re-Join NDC If I Win

Party activist, George Boateng, who has declared his intention to contest President John Mahama at the partys upcoming primaries, has told Accra-based Kasapa FM that he has the full backing of the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife. According to him, the wife of President Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyeman would return to the NDC if he becomes the flagbearer, adding that he would ensure that the country celebrates the June 4 Revolution. The entry of Mr Boateng has sparked fires with the NDC set to start descending into the gutters with verbal and counter attacks as the partys presidential and parliamentary primaries approach. Already, the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Mr Boateng have started firing salvos at each other on the airwaves. Mr. Nketia rubbished media reports that the Presidential hopeful, Mr Boateng has picked his nomination forms to contest the President. Speaking on Neat FMs morning show, Mr. Nketia stressed that since we (NDC) opened the nomination for the presidential election, no single person has come to my office for the form. I am the only person who can issue out the presidential form to candidates; with the parliamentary, candidates can go to their constituency secretary for the form. I was told yesterday (Monday) that George Boateng has visited the party office for the formbut I told my clerks to hold on because I am not at the office. The General Secretary, popularly called General Mosquito added that it is never true that George Boateng has picked his nomination formseven President Mahama has not been there for his form. No single person has picked the presidential election form. What George is saying is not true. But, in a sharp rebuttal on the same platform, the presidential hopeful said Asiedu Nketia should know that, I did not go for the form at the constituency office or Mallam Atta market in Accra, I went to the NDCs national headquarters for the form with journalists to witness. He (Asiedu Nketia) should verify. Mr. Boateng added that Mr. Nketia called me on phone begging me to step aside but I told him no. He (Asiedu Nketia) thought I was joking with my ambition but realized I was serious when I picked my form. He also told Mr. Nketia and his deputy, Koku Anyidoho that the NDC did not belong to them; hence they ought to conduct themselves well. The presidential hopeful added that he has not been to school but would transform the countrys economy as president because the presidency is not about academia. Responding to Mr Boatengs accusations, General Mosquito insisted that seriously with immediate effect we must take this guy to Pantang, something is really wrong with him.
