Soldiers Kill One, Injure Others In Kasoa Demolition Row

One person was killed and two others injured when military men said to have been deployed to supervise a demolition exercise at Kasoa in the Central Region fired warning shots to disperse protesters. Accra-based Joy FM reported Thursday that, in the process, one person was hit in the head by a bullet. The residents had reportedly gathered to prevent what they said was an unauthorised demolition by an estate firm, leading to clashes with the military personnel on the street. The incident was said to have happened in the Millennium City area near Nyanyano. The soldiers had reportedly been hired by the estate firm. The injured were rushed to the hospital, the report added.
