NDC Sacks Officers For Selling Forms To Mahamas Challenger

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sanctioned its staff who sold presidential nomination forms to one, George Boateng who is seeking to challenge President Mahama for the flagbearersip slot.

George Boateng, the only challenger to President John Dramani Mahama a few days ago picked his nomination forms at the National Headquarters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

However, according to Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, First National Vice-Chairman of the NDC, the only person in charge of selling President Forms to prospective candidate is the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito.

Speaking on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo, who is also the Director of Elections of the NDC, put on record that no party Presidential aspirant has officially picked nomination forms.

This comment followed the argument that George Boateng had not picked his nomination form since General Mosquito was out of Accra as at the time he claimed to have purchased his form.

Nonetheless, President Mahama's contender insists that he had already picked his nomination form and that it was the Administrative Officer who sold it to him.

Mr Asiedu Nketiah on Thursday when he presented President Mahama’s nomination forms to the Vice-President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur indicated that the Administrative Officer who doubles as the Accountant has been dismissed.

“We indicated that the forms must be picked from the General Secretary of the party. Since we announced the guidelines, I’m pleased to inform you that this is the first time any candidate has approached my office to pick nomination forms (referring to President Mahama’s forms). Meanwhile since our staff has been mentioned in this whole saga, we have taken firm administrative measures against them. So those members of our staff who were pretending to be General Secretaries have been sanctioned and you will not see them in this office working again” he said
