Child Harvesting Hits Ghana

The Public Relations Officer of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), Chief Inspector Irene Oppong, has confirmed that child harvesting, a practice largely prevalent in Nigeria has hit the country. Child harvesting, is a practice whereby people allow less privileged women, especially financially handicapped ones to give birth for the rich at a fee. Speaking to Peace FM, Chief Inspector Oppong, confirmed that four ladies believed to be in their early twenties are in the custody of the Railway Police for such an act. They had been contracted to give birth to a business woman for a fee. Three of the ladies have all given birth whilst the fourth one is said to be pregnant.
