Man Arrested For Killing "Sakawa" Friend

The Police in Tamale has arrested a 28 year old unemployed Muazu Fuseini for allegedly killing his close friend in an attempt to sell an unregistered gun to him.

Muazu Fuseini told the police he is "browser" which is supposed to mean an 'Internet fraudster.' According to Police source, the deceased, Nurudeen Sayibu also 28, confided in the suspect his intention to buy a gun.

The suspect collected a ten rounds short gun with the registration number 785006 from one Alhassan who is currently at large to be shown to the deceased. The source added, After the deceased inspected the weapon, he told the suspect he wanted to mop his room and returned the weapon to the suspect.

The suspect accidentally pressed the trigger hitting the stomach of deceased. He was rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead on 6/09/15 at 05:58am.

The body of the deceased currently has been kept at the morgue for autopsy, and the suspect, in custody pending investigation, the source concluded.

However, body of the deceased is expected to be conveyed from the morgue for burial in accordance with the Islamic tradition, a family source has disclosed.

Ebenezer Tetteh, Northern regional P.R.O in a sideline interview with Peace News said, provisionally the suspect would be charged for murder.

He also revealed that there is still a ban on weapon trade in the region, so the argument of whether the gun is licensed or not would not be considered.
