Bertha Wins Stars Of The Future Season 4

She expressed joy and said �This is a dream come through. I can�t believe this. Am so happy, I don�t know what to say�. The final competition among the surviving four contestants: Christian, Nyaniba, Akosoa and Bertha took place last Saturday, August 22nd at the National Theater. The night saw a splendid performance by all four great talents as they had a fair share of the crowd�s appreciation. This year�s season 4 started with audition in two zones (The Northern and Southern). Out of the hundreds who turned up for the audition, 25 were short listed and sent to the Master Mix Studio where they all officially recorded with live instruments for the first time. Out of the 25, 12 contestants were carefully selected for the eviction show on TV. The 12 include: Bertha, Luigi, Akosua, Lillian, Pearl, Enoch, Christian Rose, Nyaniba, Rachael, Nelson and Daniel. For thirteen weeks running, they were evicted weekly until the final four. Last Saturday�s showdown decided who really deserved the ultimate prize. The four sang different popular songs. Akosua performed her own version of �Igwe� song originally performed by Nigerian gospel group The Midnight Crew, Bertha did a hit song by Whitney Houston song, Nyaniba sung �You raise me up� by West Life whiles Christian did a Michael Bolton song. In the second round, they performed songs they wrote themselves. Akosua trilled the crowd with her well written song titled �I will survive�, Bertha left all five judges spellbound after she performed her own song titled,�Be a star�, Nyaniba did a love song she calls �My love for you remains� and Christian took the whole auditorium by storm with Twi song �Faakye� (Forgive). After hordes of accolades and criticisms had been heaped on the contestants, by regular judges Zab Mallet, Doreen Andoh, and Kiki Banson with objective support from guest judges Samini and Irene Logan (Winner of SOF season one), Bertha who hails from Kumasi, was adjudged the winner for SOF season four(4). For her prize she took home a brand new Kia Picanto car, a GH� 25,000 worth performing contract and a recording contract for her year of reign. The first runner up Christian received GH�2,000 cash, second runner up Nyaniba won for herself GH� 1,500 and Akosua who came fourth won GH� 1,000. Akosua also won the MTN jingle competition where each contestant was tasked to record a 45 second jingle for MTN. For Akosua�s prize she recieved GH�1,000 and a VIP package to witness the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The eight contestant who failed to make it to the final round of four, had cash prizes ranging between GH�2,000 to GH� 8,000 depending how many weeks the constants spent in the competition. Winner of SOF season one was Irene Logan, Justice was winner for season two, Adina won last year�s season three and Bertha took over from Adina last Saturday.
