Kwesi Pratt Advises Anas

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has called on ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremyaw Anas to extend his investigations into the media profession.

According to him, the media which is the fourth estate of the realm also needs to purge itself of corruption. Praising the award winning investigative journalist for his good works over the years, the outspoken journalist underscored the need for Anas to turn his ‘gun’ to the media.

Mr. Pratt suspects there are more journalists in the media landscape who may even be more corrupt than the judges.

“Anas has done a very good work but I pray he extend his investigations into the field of journalism… I am sure many loud mouth presenters on radio and others will be caught in the web” he said. Anas Aremyaw Anas in a yet to be released video filmed more than 30 judges and about 100 court officials taking bribes.

The three-hour edited video which is a result of two years painstaking investigation into the judiciary by the “Tiger Eye” investigative team also exposes some of the judges in a sex scandal.

22 judges have been suspended with several being investigated by the judicial council after Anas petitioned President John Dramani Mahama , the Chief Justice and the Attorney General to take necessary action against those found in the video to be taking bribes and extorting money from litigants.

The Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong has also given Anas immunity from prosecution and any civil action.

However, speaking on Adom FM’s morning show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Thursday, Mr. Pratt praised the Judicial Council for the swift action taken to ensure the third arm of government regains public confidence.

He also commended the Attorney General, Mrs. Appiah-Oppong for giving the Anas Aremyaw Anas protection from any trial adding that her action has proven that she is eager to fight corruption in the country.
