PNC To Ensure Higher Productivity Ayariga

A Peoples National Convention (PNC) government will ensure higher productivity and good standard of living for the people by giving the worker his due. The PNC, an off-shoot of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) and the Peoples National Party (PNP), will make the necessary state interventions, as pursued by the late Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, for the people to enjoy better living conditions. The 2012 Presidential Candidate for the PNC, Dr Hassan Ayariga, said this in an interview with the Daily Graphic after he had presented cheques for undisclosed sums to three regional chairmen of the party last Friday to support their ongoing regional constituency executive elections. The beneficiary regions are the Upper West, Upper East and Eastern regions. The Brong Ahafo, Northern and the Central regions have already benefited from his support for the reorganisation of the party to prop up its campaign for the 2016 general election. Economic hardships Dr Ayariga said what the country now needed was committed and dedicated leadership that would make the welfare of the people a priority. He said the current economic hardships the people were going through were self-inflicted because the country had the resources to be self-sufficient and export to earn foreign exchange to balance her trade and economy instead of her heavy reliance on imports. He added for example that the country had vast tracts of land suitable for the cultivation of rice and other imported items yet we continue to spend huge foreign exchange earnings to import those items. Dr Ayariga reiterated his call on other presidential aspirants of the party to contribute in kind or cash to support the party in its efforts to make an impact in the 2016 general election. The Upper East Regional Secretary of the PNC, Mr Henry Fatchu, on behalf of the recipients, commended Dr Ayariga for showing keen interest in the reorganisation of the party to entice committed and dedicated people to attract more votes in the upcoming election. Mr Fatchu called on the youth to vie for positions in the party to change its fortunes.
