Judges Who Refused Anas Bribery Are Not Holy; They Are As Corrupt As Those Busted Lawyer Ampaw

Popular lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has kicked against the showering of praises to some 11 Judges who refused to be bribed by world-class investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas in his recent shocking undercover work at the Ghana Judicial Service.

According to Lawyer Maurice Ampaw – the 11 are as corrupt as those busted in the two years investigation by Anas.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie', Lawyer Ampaw said these Judges must not be made to be seen as “holy” as they are currently being projected to the public.

“I’m saying these Judges may not be angels as it appears to be put out there. The fact that Anas was not successful in bribing them does not mean they are not bribable. It may well be the case that his approach in wanting to establish their complicity in corrupt practices failed this time around,” he said.

The judicial bribery scandal has established some 34 Judges implicated in corrupt practices in the discharge of their duties – also extra 11 of the judges refused bribes to change verdicts.

The eleven include - Kwesi Boakye, Bright Mensah, Constance Hometorwu, Georgina Mensah Datsey, Afia Serwaa Asare Botchway, Anthony Oppong, Felicia Dedzi, Charles Kwesi Acheampong, Samuel Djane Quartey, Abdul Abdullai, and Bright Ajosagi.

However, lawyer Maurice Ampaw still insists that the eleven were just “lucky” – “If someone is an armed robber and a swoop is conducted today but the person is not caught, that doesn’t mean the person is not an armed robber”.
