Last Batch Of Ghanaian Pilgrims Leaves On Wednesday

Alhaji Mohammed Amin Lamptey, Deputy Communications Director, Pilgrims Affairs Office, Ghana, says no Ghanaian was affected in the Saudi Arabia crane incident in Mecca. A crane collapsed at Mecca's Grand Mosque on last Friday killing several people. Alhaji Amin Lamptey told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra that; �officially, we have not received any information of the death of any Ghanaian". Alhaji Amin Lamptey also said that the last batch of pilgrims, were expected to be ferried to the Holy land on Wednesday, September 16. �We were expecting the last flight to leave with the last batch of pilgrims yesterday, Monday, September 14th, but a few hitches have caused the date to be postponed to Wednesday,� he said. A total of 5424 Pilgrims were expected to be ferried to the Holy Land of Mecca form the Hajj Village at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, to perform this year�s Hajj.
