Klottey Korle MP Supports June 3rd Victims

Some residents of Adabraka Solar, Asylum Down and Osu Alata, all in the Klottey Korle constituency of the Greater Accra region have expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the area NIi Armah Ashietey for the numerous efforts he has made since the June 3rd Flood and Fire Disaster rocked the city this year. Most of the victims of the disaster are residents of the Klottey Korle constituency and they say they have been impressed with the work of their MP particularly the compassion he has shown to families affected. This was made known on Tuesday when Nii Armah Ashietey with support from the National Disaster Management Organisation(NADMO) donated consignment of relief items to the affected families in the constituency. Three separate ceremonies were held for the presentation led by Mr. Ashietey together with officials from NADMO The first point for the donation was the Adabraka Solar area where a total of 200 families were presented with bags of rice and sugar, cartons of cooking oil and soap, bales of used clothing, plastic buckets and mosquito nets. The team continued to Asylum Down and Osu to make similar presentations to 350 affected families. Nii Armah Ashietey urged the people to clean their environments regularly and ensure that people do not dispose off waste into the drains. He also advised them against citing of structures on water ways. This practice he added has the potential of causing flood each time it rained. Leaders of the three communities expressed gratitude to Mr. Ashietey and NADMO for the gesture and pledged to regularly take part in the national sanitation exercise held on the first Saturday of every month.
