All African Games: Ghana 1 - 0 Cameroon: Black Queens Win Gold

Ghana’s Black Queens have won gold at the 2015 All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo after defeating Cameroon 1-0 in the final game at the Stade Alphonse-Massamba-Débat.

Portia Boakye grabbed the winner after a rebounded penalty kick in the dying minutes of the game by Agnes Aduaku.

The first half of the game failed to produce any goal as the game was fairly balanced, but the Black Queens who were determined to avenge their denial by Cameroon from reaching the summer Olympics saw their hard work paid off in the late minute of the second half when Portia Boakye slotted in the championship winning goal with three minutes to end the 90 minutes of regulation time.

The Black Queens added their name to the records books of the All Africa Games by winning their first ever gold in the competition's history.

The Black Queens edged Ivory Coast by a goal to nil in the semis after gaining an edge over South Africa during the drawing of lots.

At the end of the group stage, all three teams- Ghana, Cameroon and South Africa had fetched two points apiece.

Cameroon, however, secured the top spot after scoring more goals than the other two sides.
