Nkrumah Will Be Happy For Prez Mahama For His Achievement In Education- Okudzeto Ablakwa

Deputy Minister Education in charge of Tertiary, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah will turning in his grave for joy as the country mark his birth on Monday September 21, 2015.

He explained the reason to be that President John Dramani Mahama, who he said is Nkrumahist, is living the legacy of the country’s premier President who believed so much in making education free and accessible to every Ghanaian.

President John Mahama has officially commissioned the first of his promised 200 secondary schools at Otuam in the Central region to kick-start his free SHS policy.

The four-storey state of the art school is named after the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

Sources say the finance ministry has released more than GHC12 million cedis for the implementation of the programme.

The President made the promise during the 2012 electioneering. More than 300,000 day-students are expected to benefit from the programme beginning this academic year.

Some of the new schools are to be built in Northern regional districts such as Kpandai Bunkpurugu in Bunkpurugu, Namong in Yunyoo, Bamboi in Bole.

Commenting on the fact that President Mahama has commissioned the first of his promised 200 secondary schools, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa on Radio Gold over weekend said the commission has happened when the country will be celebrating the birth of the first of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

He however considered the commissioned of the first school significant, in cognizant of the fact that Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is the only President of Ghana who has established many secondary schools.

He encapsulated that President Mahama is going to make history as the next President to have built more secondary schools to enhance those which were established by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

Due to the commissioning of President John Dramani Mahama’s Community Day Schools which the first has kicked-start at Otuam, Okudzeto Ablakwa concluded saying “Nkrumah will be happy for President Mahama” as he seeks to transform lives in education.
