NDC Vets Aspirants

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will from Tuesday September 22, commence the vetting of all aspirants for the party’s parliamentary primaries on November 7, 2015.

Speaking in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on PEACE FM, the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito said unlike the news report that all the aspirants will be vetted at the Party’s headquarters in Accra, “they (the aspirants) will now be vetted by a team led by the national officers at the regional level”.

According to him, 800 aspirants will go through the vetting process and bemoaned that out of this figure, only 70 are women.

“we wish they will all qualify for the competition to be tight…if the options given to the voters are a lot, we will be able to get the best” he said.

Meanwhile, aspirants in the Eastern, Upper East, Central and Upper West Regions will be vetted today whiles aspirants in Ashanti, Northern, Western and Brong Ahafo Regions will have their turn on Wednesday. The Volta and Greater Accra Regions are scheduled to have theirs on the 29th and 30th of September.
