(Photo) Mills Statue At Otuam Was Built By An Enemy & Is An Act Of Mockery- Wontumi

President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the Atta Mills Community Day Senior High School (SHS) at Ekumfi Otuam in the Central Region.

The school is one of the 200 Community Day Schools promised by the governing party during the 2012 electioneering under the Free SHS policy.

A statute bearing the name of the late former president has been mounted on the school’s compound, but the act work has been described as poor by the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party. Mr. Antwi Boasiako in a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, blasted President Mahama for showing no respect to his predecessor.

He claims President Mahama shouldn’t allow a statue which has no semblance of Atta Mills to stand in a school he has been named after.

Below is a copy of his statement

I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE MAHAMA MADE SUCH AS STATUE FOR MILLS

I just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw such a statue claiming it's that of the late president Mills. It was built by an enemy and is an act of mockery.

I had to watch this statue for sometime before identifying it was that of the late president Mills' statue. The only way I could identify that statue was reading the name or inscriptions the statue bears.

In the first moment, I asked myself, why could they allow this to happen? Can't President Mahama just do something nicer to show his respect and appreciation for the late Mills? The statue made for Mills tells us all how much the president respects the late Mills.

It's unfortunate, because, I feel that, if not for anything, the Late Mills had confidence in him when some people in his NDC doubted his capabilities and abilities to be his vice.

But late Mills ignored all his ‘detractors’ and gave Mahama all the chances he needed to prove himself - something, I don't think he has.

It is therefore imperative to respect and duly honor the late president as he deserve. This form of statues only tells us how much late president Mills isn't appreciated by president Mahama.

It's so sad that and sometimes, I ask myself, was it a sin the late Mills committed making president Mahama his Vice president?
