We Have No Power Over Council Of Elders- Constituency Chairmen Tell Afoko

We wish to collectively debunk and refute a recent publication on Starrfmonline.com which seems to suggest that, we the constituency Chairmen of the Ashanti region have ordered the National Council of Elders of our party to undertake or abide by a said recommendation from us. We wish to state it clearer here that we know nothing about the said statement as constituency chairmen in the Ashanti Region. It was shocking and cruel to have sent out a statement in the name of our association as chairmen without our notice. Moreover, we just can't understand why these persons, who claim to urge us to use the defined party structures, opt to use their own structures instead of involving the other constituency chairmen or the regional executives? Also, we believe, if there are any forms of suggestions to be made to the council of Elders, we believe it should be a collectively approach and signed by our regional chairman and possibly together with us and not as it has been done. We wish to state it clearly that, such publication should be ignored and treated as 'rubbish'. We wish to also state on record that: 1. there has never been such meeting held by us as chairmen to discuss such issue and hence that publication is fabricated and such lies must be ignored or the persons who are behind this do that under their own interest and not that of our association. 2. also, we want to state it clearly that, we are not in any position to refute or reject any decisions made by our Council of Elders. We believe, all it's decisions are targeted to merit the good of the party and as such we have not ordered them to do anything contrary to what they have done 3. we also understand and respect the call by our flag bearer, Nana Addo for us all to stop the media outburst. If we have a contrary view to what they have suggested, we would have used the most desirable and appropriate channels to express our dismay, but, not through the media 4. we wish to state on that we have not opposed or proposed the decision of the Council of Elders asking for the suspension of Mr Paul Afoko, our national chairman. We believe as a party, we are guided by laws and if any goes contrary, the law have its way. So in that order, if Mr. Afoko is found soiled or guilty, we believe the Disciplinary Committee has such power to act on the said recommendation by the Council of Elders. So we have not and we would take a part in this constitutional deliberations as Chairmen of our respective constituencies. 5. Finally, we wish to back the call by our flag bearer to desist from the media outbursts and we ask the general public to treat the said press statement on staronline.com as 'rubbish' and purely a fabrication or from people or a group seeking for its own interest. Also, we wish to advice the media to be weary of what they publish because, not all are credible and they should know our political detractors remains behind his mischievous acts.
