President Mahama Extols Virtues Of Amissah-Arthur

President John Dramani Mahama has once again, extolled the virtues of his Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amisssah-Arthur, describing him as someone who does his work with a lot of dignity and does not belong to the flamboyant class of politicians.

Given the strongest indication yet that he’s running with his Vice President kwesi Amissah Arthur. President Mahama granting an interview with Africa Watch magazine at the Flagstaff house on September 6th, 2015 reacted to allegations in a section of the media that his Vice is not visible.

“A lot of people are used to flamboyant type of politicians; he’s the reserved type and does his work with dignity. I appreciate the rapport we have and I have a lot of respect for him. – President Mahama.

Africa Watch Magazine in an interview with the President Mahama- Mr. President people are saying your Vice President is not Visible. You know him better and have worked with him. What is your relationship with him and what are his strong points.

President Mahama -Vice President is a finance person and his professional competence is in finance and economic management. He’s my chief adviser and provides me with a lot of technical support on economic issues.” In other jurisdictions people are used to flamboyant type of politicians; he’s the reserved type. He’s more of a technocrat and concentrates on getting the job done and he does his work with a lot of Dignity. I appreciate the rapport we have and I have a lot of respect for him”, the President said.

There have been strong agitations from other quarters for Mr Amissah-Arthur to be replaced as Mahama’s running mate but from all indications President Mahama appears comfortable with the status quo describing him as a “loyal and tested person, dependable and trustworthy and true patriot”

President Mahama said he understands the posture of his Veep who has his own style of not being a flamboyant type of politician and also brings a lot of dignity to his work -meaning these days, politicians do not only live in super affluence to attract attention and express politics in a different way .something that you would not find in his Vice President, but has been able to achieve as a mark of his delivery of the dividends of democracy: in Ghana. A quieter, less-obviously ambitious politician with a solid record of financial and a silent political heavyweight

Amisssah Arthur, by appearance and history, is not a noise maker; he is more a man of the center, and already has the finesse for a vice-presidential relationship, as he has a very warming face with the public. He is anti-indiscipline and a serious person when it comes to working for Ghana.

He is grounded in a mind of independency. He is all about reality rather than wide open fantasy. He is a man of character. He is a staunch Christian and a man of tolerance.

He’s one of the most passionate advocates for the youths. Especially in the area of education, Christianity, lay people, the elderly, and a friend of the professional and business world.

By appearance, it is quite easy to see a personal chemistry between Mahama and Amissah Arthur, as it relates to a mindset for a disciplined and healthy political atmosphere. Above all, Amissah has proved that he is bathed in confidence, truthfulness and selflessness
The last time President Mahama praised his Veep was in Senchi at the National Economic Forum (NEF). When Ghanaians came together to talk through any differences in order to find practical solutions to economic problems ,describing the work of the Vice President as exemplary and the lead role by the Vice President before and during the forum has also come up for tons of commendation

Today this man Amissah Arthur has been able to stand; the steadfast epitome of humility and loyalty; loyalty to his boss, loyalty to the wishes of Ghanaians. Not a word of insubordination escaped his lips. Not a breath of corruption, the corruption of the ideals of loyalty and humanity, passed from him. And as if that was not enough, he held his calm in the height of economic difficulties.

The continuous the thumbs-up by the President to the Vice President is not misplaced. He believes in the man who partnered him after the unfortunate demise of the late President Atta Mills almost three years ago to complete the first term of the Mills-Mahama Administration is a good personality.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur, who prior to his elevation to the position of the Vice President, was the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, was vetted by Parliament and safely sailed through with his approval before assuming the position.

And when it came to the time for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to seek the mandate of Ghanaians to continue with the Better Ghana programme in the 2012 presidential elections, here again was Vice President Amissah-Arthur and toured the nook and cranny of the country and contributed to the victory of his party.

Here was a Vice President who has risen through the ranks from the era of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) to when Ghana re-entered constitutional rule in 1992.

A look at his profile might bring out the competencies of the man through his days as a student and his professional life.
It was during his tenure as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana that the country attained a middle income status.

President Mahama made no mistake in selecting Mr. Amissah-Arthur as the Vice President and he deserves commendation for his indefatigable effort to bring the economy on an even keel.

A good VP acts silently and loyal, not trying to overshadow his boss, and that's what Kwesi amissah Arthur has done. Compliments and not compete.

Pope Francis said “Our dignity begins with (work).""Power, money, culture do not give us dignity," "Work, honest work, gives us dignity."
