Mathew Amoah In Top Form For Black Stars

Black Stars striker Mathew Amoah will go into next Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Sudan in good form after scoring for his Dutch club at the weekend. The 28-year-old was making his league return after suffering an ankle injury that kept him out of action for three weeks. Amoah grabbed the second goal as he marked his return to the league from injury with a second-half goal in NAC Breda's 2-0 over rivals Heerenveen in the Dutch top-flight. His absence cost Breda two defeats in the league and he made a return after three weeks on sidelines in their Europa league humiliation to Villarreal in mid-week. His strike partner Kwakman gave Breda the lead in the 51st minute and Amoah was around to seal the win seven minutes later. His return to action and form is a good boost for the Black Stars as they are seeking a win over the Nile Crocodiles to keep them on course for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Amoah was in top shape during June's double header against Mali and Sudan away, scoring three goals in total. He is expected to join 19 other players invited for the return qualifier against Sudan in Accra on 6 September.
