Chief Justice Should Have Mastered Courage To Free Justice Ayisi Addo; Hes Innocent - Effah Dartey

Criminal Lawyer Nkrabea Effah Dartey, the defense lawyer for Justice Gilbert Ayisi Addo says his client is innocent of the judicial bribery scandal of which he has been suspended among other six High Court judges.

According to him, the Chief Justice, Her Lordship Justice Georgina Theodora Wood should have mastered courage to exclude his client, Justice Ayisi Addo because the transcript which was given to him before the suspension indicated that the judge didn’t take any money from anyone.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the season legal practitioner asserted the video recording also exonerates his client as he (Justice Ayisi) left the stranger (Anas) and the court clerk to his bedroom.

“The transcript that Chief Justice gave to Justice Ayisi Addo indicated that the judge sacked the stranger from his house when they tried to offer money for an upcoming case and the video confirms the transcript. The stranger didn’t mention any amount and no money exchanged hands in the video; now they are saying the judge has taken bribe and so he has been suspended,” he narrated.

He was of the view that the Chief Justice and her advisors may have decided to let Justice Ayisi Addo go through the mill due to the huge backlash from the public after reading the transcript of the beleaguered judge so that the process will clear him.

He however insisted “I believe the Chief Justice didn’t have the courage to put her foot down to say that in the case of at least Justice Ayisi Addo, they must clear him immediately.”
