Akufo-Addo Will Experience Worst Defeat In 2016... - Ahianyo

The Central Regional Secretary of governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sampson Ahianyo has predicted that the twice defeated opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo will suffer massive defeat in the next presidential election.

He added that Mr Akufo-Addo can set every plot in the world against President John Dramani Mahama’s government thinking that Ghanaians will vote him into power, but it won’t work, adding that “Nana Addo will experience his worst defeat, especially, in the Central Region for a third consecutive time come 2016 polls.”

Mr. Ahianyo made this assertion at a press conference organized by the Central regional executives of the NDC to dismiss the NPP’s press conference led by their regional secretary, Kwamina Duncan on the armed robbery attack on the Central Regional office of the NDCas well as Nana Addo’s comment after touring there recently.

He wondered why the NPP would take part in such a reckless opportunistic discourse tainted with political amateurism in their bid to draw political capital from the misfortune that befell the NDC activists when armed men attacked their regional secretariat.

“This conduct of the NPP is hypocritical, diabolical, mischievous and incongruous with the Ghanaian culture that teaches us to commiserate with and comfort our neighbors in times of pain and distress,” he fumed.

Mr. Ahianyo advised the NPP to go back to the drawing board and devise means of injecting hopes in their supporters as a result of their bad management of the party.

He, therefore, expressed shock about Mr Akufo-Addo’ statement of winning NDC strongholds in the region while after his (Nana Addo) one solid year of his election as a flagbearer is at a loss as to how to manage affairs in his political party.

Mr Ahianyo observed that “if our compatriots in Nana Addo’s own backyard are almost splitting votes with him through the agenda 50/50, what makes him think citizens in the Central Region will provide compensatory votes for him in 2016.”

According to the regional secretary, the chiefs and people of the region are satisfied with the performance of the NDC regarding the unprecedented influx of strategic infrastructure in the region including Komenda Sugar Factory, Kasoa interchange, Elmina Fish processing plant, Abrem water project, Kotokuraba Market complex, Cape Coast Sport stadium and seven community day Senior High Schools in the region among others and believed chiefs and people are ready to thank President Mahama with their thumbs.

He asked Nana Addo to forget about winning more votes and seats in the Central Region in the next general election since the NDC is poised for a resounding victory as well as win 20 seats out of 23 seats.

Mr. Ahianyo stated that Nana Addo failed woefully to recognize the deadly syndrome creeping into his party in Central Region as majority of the NPP parliamentary aspirants are only focused on saving their heads first regardless of what happens to Nana Addo.
