�I am the most suitable person to bring the NPP back to power as next National Chairman of the party,� former Tourism Minister in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Mr. Jake Otunka Obetsebi Lamptey disclosed on an Accra based radio station on Friday. Obetsebi Lamptey, who is highly tipped by political watchers to become the one to succeed Peter Mac Manu as the next chairman of the NPP was explaining the reasons why he should be given the nod as the national chairman. He insisted that this credentials and track record in politics undoubtedly outweigh his fellow competitors adding, I am the best among the names that have come up. �looking at the names that is in the public domain so far, I do not think or believe any of them is popular than me in the party. My personality and name is a household one amongst the rank and file of the party and moreover, I was also in the trenches with them during their struggle for multi party democracy,� submitted Obetsebi lamptey. According to the touted campaign strategist, the current state of the NPP requires committed and strong minded person to man the affairs of the party, stating that �leading a party to win major elections is no child�s play. But political analysts have predicted it to be a straight contest between Jake Obetsbi Lamptey and Stephen Ayensu Ntim, who lost narrowly to Peter Mac Manu last time around.
